Ofsted Calls for Curriculum Improvements at Marton Nursery

A Marton-based nursery, Tiny Turners, was recently rated as “requiring improvement” by Ofsted despite being praised for its warm and welcoming environment.

While parents are satisfied with the level of care, inspectors identified gaps in curriculum planning and activities. The report stressed the need for more consistent teaching quality, especially for children with special educational needs.

Ofsted highlighted that staff interaction with children was inconsistent and improvements in outdoor activities and creative development were necessary. The nursery is now focusing on enhancing its curriculum and staff training.

While the nursery received positive feedback on its nurturing atmosphere, it’s clear that greater emphasis on structured teaching practices will help bridge the current gaps and support the development of all children attending.

“The nursery provides a warm and friendly space, but there’s work to be done to meet Ofsted’s expectations fully.”

With the right adjustments, Tiny Turners can turn things around and further its reputation as a caring, high-quality environment for young children.
