Be inspired and equipped to create a more sustainable future – join Nursery World for a one day conference in central London, on 12 November
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to hear from leading practitioners and thinkers on how a sustainable approach to best practice and business can come together to bring about positive change.
Our upcoming conference – ‘Sustainability in the Early Years: Economic, Environmental, Social’ will provide the big picture on sustainability while drilling down into do-able, practical steps that settings and businesses can take to reach their goals.
We will hear from a wide range of expert speakers on a variety of subjects, such as securing financial resilience, to introducing resources children can use to explore biodiversity, or making your setting a focus for community.
The day will kick off with a call to action by June O’Sullivan, CEO of LEYF, who will make a powerful argument for why sustainability should be high on the early years agenda and talk about how staff teams can begin their sustainability journey together.
Other morning speakers will include Dr Diane Boyd, early years consultant, and Kerrie Lee, lecturer in Early Childhood Studies and Education and the University of Hull, who will hone in what the Sustainable Development Goals mean for settings. Following on, best selling author Laura Henry-Allain will talk about using children’s stories to create a better world.
During the day delegates will be able to attend all three complementary workshops. These are:
- Social: Bringing communities together – delivered by Jackie Warren and Carlie Powell of Growing Places
- Environmental: Inspiring a new generation to look after the planet – Nick Corlett at LEYF
- Economic: Taking the long view – Zoe Raven and Santa Svike at Acorn Early Years
The day will finish with a lively panel debate – ‘Thinking big, starting small’.
Our wide-ranging expert panel will discuss how practical initiatives are having a positive impact on early years practice and how they can come together to create a greener future.
We look forward to welcoming delegates to be part of this important conversation. Find out more about this conference taking place at London’s Cavendish Conference Centre on 12 November here
